The Little Black Barn is located on my home property, about 10 minutes north of Duluth, MN in Rice Lake. It has its own dedicated parking area immediately outside the building. This cozy space, nestled among tall pines + popple trees, offers a warm & inviting natural light shooting space.

The interior dimensions of the studio are 10.5 ft by 13.25 ft. This is a cozy, intimate shooting space. Before booking The Little Black Barn, please consider your own personal shooting style to ensure the space is a good fit for your needs. This space is great for capturing a maximum of 1-2 clients at a time (ideal for boudoir, headshots, branding, maternity, and young child/parent). While there is a covered porch outside, there is no separate indoor waiting area, so keep this in mind.

Due to the size and location of the studio, there is no indoor plumbing in the space. However, there is a clean + tidy portable restroom located just outside of the building. In addition, hand sanitizer and cleansing wipes are available as needed. 

Yes! We have high speed Starlink internet available at The Little Black Barn.

There is parking for up to two vehicles directly in front of The Little Black Barn. Please keep the driveway itself clear of parked vehicles to ensure access to the main house.

The rental period must include any time required for setup or teardown, so please keep this in mind when booking your date & timeframe.
